What is Pastel Nagomi

Japan Pastel Nagomi Art is a form of art healing. It is founded by Mr. Hosoya Norikatsu. The kanji character of Nagomi is '和', which represents harmony.

Young children to the elderly are able to create pieces of warm and simple yet beautiful art regardless of one's drawing skills and experience. By using pastel powder and fingers, together with some simple tools, a gentle and creative art can be created.

While drawing, one can achieve self-healing and unleash creativity, yet relax the mind and release stress.

Arts help in children’s development:

Fine motor skill

• Children with good fine motor skills can write better and neatly.
• Training on fine motor skills can train children’s focus power as well. 

Creativity & creation power

• Helps children in making sentences and essay writing.
• Creativity is important for problem solving skill.

Visual identification & appreciation (Color blending,etc)

• Visual identification is important for children to read and copy words that teachers show on the whiteboard, etc. Also the ability to follow through the words that they are reading on the board and books.
• Visual appreciation is all about the ability to enjoy the beautiful and nice things. This is important when children are working on artwork color blending, fashion, etc.

Coordination & Spatial Intelligence

• Estimation of space: the ability to keep their space neat and tidy; imagination of space (visualize 3-dimensional in mathematics learning).
• Sense of direction: the ability to recognize route or directions.
• Coordination: left & right coordination. 

Emotional Learning And Development (Be More Patience)

• Children learn to be more patience and zen during the drawing. 
• Children learn to embrace their mistakes during the drawing.

Uplift In Confidence Level 

• The fulfillment of children to present their masterpiece.
• Things that seem not possible (before they start drawing), they are bale to make it by end of the lesson.
