Foong Yeng Yeng was born on August 27th 1995, from Kuala Lumpur, is Malaysia’s visual artist. Educated at Malaysian institute of art (MIA) where she received a Diploma in Fine art in 2017. Her interest in art started when she was five years old, when she attended art tuition centre to learn the basics. In primary and secondary school years she participated in various art competitions and activities gaining recognition from these institutions. In 2012,she won Malaysia’s top 10 outstanding young artist competition organized by The One Academy and was awarded a prize of RM5000 scholarship, to pursue her studies at Malaysian Institute of Art. She has also received merit awards from Malaysian Institute of Art for academic excellence. In 2016, she participated in her first public group exhibition, Eh Wau Bulan, organized by Redbull Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia, at Publika White Box, Kuala Lumpur, with an artwork entitled “ Skillful Grandma” ; Mixed Media & collage on canvas In 2017, she participated in “101 women show (Di mana Young?)” staged by the National art gallery Malaysia, with an artwork entitled “women”, Mixed media and collage .In the same year she was the leader of a group eight MIA students to take part in “ Blossom Art Festival 2017 Mural painting”, organized by Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) at the Ampang Park LRT station. The team took three days to complete their mural. From July 2017 to January 2018 , she is selected to participate in Young Art Entrepreneurs (YAE), Organized by National Art Gallery Malaysia. In 2018,she had attend to Taiping High school a an art teacher ,held workshop and sharing section with student ,3 months .in April , she involve in “Flying High ”a group exhibition staged by the National art gallery Malaysia, with 7 artists of Young art Entrepreneurs 2017.In the same year ,she was the judge of “World No Tobacco” Poster art competition ,Organized by University Putra Malaysia ,UPM Care. Furthermore She also attended an oversea artist residency from July to September ,at Gallery Untitled Space, Shanghai. ,she also invited by international artist to visit artist’ studios and art Gallery in Hong Kong. Her concept of attending oversea residency were to promote Malaysian culture , the beautiful of culture presenting through acrylic paint on canvas is to show our modern society has changed. Joining residency program to experience and explore her art, building her personal relationships in art , continue her practice upon graduation and practicing artists to be keep inspired. During the residency, collaboration with the local artists in contemporary society; where multicultural expression sparks fresh perspectives and ideas. research and providing workshops for the public.
