Checkmate Chess Academy offers Chess coaching both online and face-2-face.

1. Online - Using Google Meet or Zoom
2. Face 2 Face - Location Puchong (Petaling Jaya coming in the future)

Coaching Includes but not limited to the following:

•  Recommended from kids age 7+ to 20 years old (kids between 5-6 can be consulted)
•  Adults can be considered after consultation.
•  We offer Chess coaching for Novice, Beginner and Intermediate level.

Both 1 on 1 and Group Classes are available.

•  1 on 1 sessions will be individual focus that yield gets dedicated attention, which increases the learning pace.
•  Group sessions will allow collaboration, competitiveness and a fun-filled learning experience.

Checkmate Chess Academy coach is a FIDE Certified National Instructor with capacity to coach up to chess rating (such as FIDE, Chess.com) 2100.

What will you learn from the course:

1. Learn the basics and fundamentals to start playing chess.

2. Learn how to navigate the 3 key phases of the chess game - Opening, Middlegame and Endgame.

•  Opening - learn how to make a good and solid opening that will get you to a balanced middle game
•  Middlegame - Explore the key techniques and learn the phase where the main battle takes place
•  Endgame - Learn the important endgame theories and how to finish the game by winning or draw.

3. Beginners will then learn the building blocks of check - Tactics, Positional Play and Strategy

4. Intermediate students will be assessed and training modules will be customized according to their strength and weakness.

1. 1-on-1 classes schedules will be discussed fixed. Any changes should be communicated at least 1 day earlier.

2. Group classes are only for limited number of students to ensure quality delivery.

3. Group classes will not be replaced or reimbursed unless for justifiable reasons.

4. Fees are collected up front for the month. Example, fees for Jan must be paid before Jan 1 (or before the 1st class of the month starts)

4. Class starts and ends on time - punctuality is important.

5. No switching between face-2-face and online except for justifiable reasons i.e. Covid related MCO etc.

6. Students are required to focus during classes and not to distract others (in group sessions) - parents to briefs their kids.

7. Other T&C will be shared upon sign up for the coaching.
